DURHAM, N.C. – For the second time this season, Duke freshman forward Zion Williamson has swept the weekly ACC awards, earning both Player and Freshman of the Week after averaging 29.5 points last week for No. 1 Duke
Along with games of 27 and 32 points, Williamson averaged 9.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in victories over No. 16 Louisville and NC State. In Tuesday's comeback win at the Cardinals, the freshman posted his 10th double-double with 27 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. He followed that Saturday by pouring in 32 points – his third 30-point game this season – with six boards and three more steals.
The Spartanburg, S.C., native leads the ACC in field goal percentage (.683) and steals (2.3), and is second in scoring (22.4) and third in rebounding (9.2). He is the nation's only player averaging more than 20.0 points per game and shooting better than .650 from the field.
The No. 1 Blue Devils next host No. 8 North Carolina Wednesday at 9 p.m. on ESPN.
