Two Relays Advance to Finals in Texas

AUSTIN, Texas – The Duke track & field team closed out the third day of the 92nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays Friday in Austin, Texas, as the Blue Devils qualified two relays to Saturday's finals.

Saturday will feature the Duke women in the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay as both advanced out of the prelims.

Domonique Panton, India Lowe, Natalie Simmons and Kelcie Simmons clocked in at 45.62 to take seventh overall in the 4x100m relay before Lowe teamed up with Brittany Aveni, Lauren Hoffman and MacKenzie Kerr to form the 4x400m relay. The squad clocked in at 3:43.31 to take fifth.

Nati Sheppard highlighted the field events for the Blue Devils as she posted a huge personal-best clearance in the pole vault. Sheppard cleared 4.21m, which is the fourth-best mark in Duke history. Sheppard's previous personal best was 4.05m and today she posted an ACC qualifying mark.

Rivers Ridout also saw success in the high jump competition as he tied for fourth overall with a height of 2.09m and Michael Marsack placed sixth in the javelin with a mark of 63.42m, both of which are ACC qualifying marks.

Duke will close out the Texas Relays Saturday with the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
