DURHAM, N.C. – Following her school-record showing over the weekend at the annual Battle of the Blues, track & field senior India Lowe was named ACC Track Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference office Wednesday.
Lowe has produced a highly successful senior campaign and Saturday registered her fourth individual school record this year.
In the 400m hurdles, Lowe placed first in a time of 57.58, breaking Teddi Maslowski's time of 58.35 set back in 2014. Lowe's time is an ACC qualifying performance and currently is tied for sixth in the country and is second in the conference.
“India's race was fantastic,” director of track & field Norm Ogilvie said. “She's been on a roll. She's been on a roll the last three weekends. She's one of the best in the country. She will be really good in the 400m hurdles as we move down the line and certainly a contender in the ACC and someone who could go to nationals in that event.”
Aside from her individual performance, the Mechanicsville, Va., native also ran the leadoff leg of the first-place finishing 4x400m relay. Lowe and the Blue Devils clocked in at 3:36.06 to clinch the team trophy over North Carolina, a time that currently ranks 21st nationally.
The Blue Devils will return to competition April 11-13 at the Tennessee Relays in Knoxville, Tenn.
