RALEIGH, N.C. – The Duke men's tennis team was well represented at a Universal Tennis Rating open event hosted by NC State over the weekend, with three Blue Devils taking to the courts and junior
Edu Güell reaching the championship match.
Güell and freshman
Samuel Rubell both played their way into the semifinal round Sunday in Raleigh. Güell advanced in the battle between the Blue Devils with a 6-4, 6-1 victory and played a tough three sets in the final before falling.
Several members of head coach
Ramsey Smith's squad will be in action this week as well at the Atlantic Tire Championships, part of the ATP Challenger Tour, in Cary, N.C. Freshman
Omni Kumar is set to open singles play Monday, while the duo of senior
Nick Stachowiak and junior
Sean Sculley will compete in the doubles main draw.
