PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Duke fencing team rounded out its second meet of the 2020 season Saturday afternoon at the Philadelphia Invitational. The ninth-ranked Blue Devil men went 4-1 on the day while the women played to a 3-2 ledger.
The men defeated NJIT (18-9), Lafayette (26-1), NYU (14-13) and Sacred Heart (22-5) and fell to No. 10 Penn (14-13). On the women's side, Duke took down NJIT (19-8), Lafayette (24-3) and Haverford (27-0) and fell to No. 10 Penn (17-10) and Cornell (16-11).
This weekend marks the second straight the Duke women blanked Haverford.
The Duke men had four individuals with 10 or more victories as rookie
Danny Campbell III went 11-3 overall that included a 3-0 showing in the thrilling victory over NYU.
Eoin Gronningsater,
Ping Ping Kitsiriboon and
Finn Hossfeld all added 10 victories as Gronningsater and Hossfeld helped the men's foil squad go 5-0 on the day.
Sophomore
Sarah Hung headlined the women's contingent with 10 victories on the day, while rookie
Ashley Lo and senior
Zuzu Tang each reeled in nine wins in foil.

Duke will have a week off before returning to competition Saturday, Feb. 1 for the Northwestern Duals.
