DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's lacrosse program closed out its fall practices with a Blue vs. White scrimmage Tuesday morning.
After 35 minutes of hard play, the Blue team walked away winners of the final scrimmage of the fall, topping the white team 11-8.
The Blue team put on a strong performance throughout the contest. Graduate
Catherine Cordrey and senior
Olivia Rubin led the side with three goals apiece. Senior
Katie Cronin also added three points for the Blue as she tallied a goal and two assists.
Also scoring for Blue were senior
Abby Landry, junior
Maddie Jenner and sophomore
Lexi Schmalz. Freshman
Katie DeSimone also recorded two assists.
The White team entered the scrimmage with a five-goal lead based off events earlier in the week. During the scrimmage, graduate
Gabby Rosenzweig assisted sophomore
Caroline DeBellis on three occasions.
Defensively, Blue was led by senior goalie
Chase Henriquez who tallied five saves. Junior
Sophia LeRose recorded three saves for white.
Even with the scrimmage win, Blue trails White 6-5 in the annual Blue vs. White competition as the squad heads home for the holidays.
