Setting the Scene...
Coming off collecting wins in four out of the last five contests, the Duke women's basketball team (11-9, 5-4 ACC) will host seventh-ranked NC State (20-1, 9-1) Sunday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m., in Cameron Indoor Stadium. It will mark National Girls and Women in Sports Day with more information available at dukengwsd.com.
The game will be aired live on ACC Network Extra with
Ryan Craig (PXP) and Debbie Taylor (Color) calling the action. It will also be carried on the Duke Sports Network via WDNC AM 620, TuneIn app and www.GoDuke.com with Chris Edwards (PXP) on the air beginning at 1:45 p.m. (ET).

Duke will remain at home to close a three-game homestand by hosting North Carolina Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m., in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The game will be aired live on ACC Network.

Duke is 7-4 on Super Bowl Sunday. Six of the seven times Duke has won on Super Bowl Sunday, the AFC team has gone on to win. All four times Duke has lost on Super Bowl Sunday, the NFC team has gone on to win.
Strength of Schedule...
The Blue Devils feature the seventh-toughest schedule nationally -- Virginia (1), Oklahoma (2), Ohio State (3), Missouri (4), Oklahoma State (5), Miami (6) and Duke (7) round out the top seven.
Duke's five non-conference losses in 2019-20 came against teams that have collected a combined 91-15 record.
The Blue Devils are currently ranked No. 37 in the latest RPI.

• In ACC games,
Haley Gorecki and
Leaonna Odom have combined to average 33.33 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game. Gorecki leads the ACC in scoring at 19.3 points per contest.
• Duke has won four out of the last five games and during those contests the Blue Devils have averaged 65.2 points, while holding opponents to 56.0.
Haley Gorecki (16.6 points, 7.4 rebounds) and
Leaonna Odom (15.8 points, 5.8 rebounds) have averaged double-digits during the stretch.
• In the ACC stats, Duke leads the league with 10.8 steals per game and ranks 24th nationally.
• In the 11 Duke wins, the Blue Devils have averaged 75.9 points and hit 46.3 percent from the field. In the nine losses, the Blue Devils have averaged 57.2 points and hit 37.2 percent from the field.
• Sophomore
Onome Akinbode-James pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds against Georgia Tech. It marked her second game with double-digit rebounds this season and the fifth of her career.
• Over the last four games,
Leaonna Odom has averaged 18.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 1.8 assists. She has hit 62.3 percent of her field goals.

Haley Gorecki averaged 36.1 minutes a contest last season and is averaging 36.0 minutes in 2019-20. She would become the first Blue Devil to average 35.0 minutes or more in back-to-back seasons.
• Duke trailed, 40-33, heading into the fourth quarter against Notre Dame and rallied for a 50-47 victory. It was the Blue Devils' largest comeback in the fourth quarter since the NCAA moved to the quarter system in 2015-16.

Haley Gorecki currently ranks third in the ACC with 105 made free throws and second with 123 attempts, while ranking third with an 85.4 free throw percentage. Her 105 free throws made ranks 14th nationally.
• For the fifth time this season, Duke had five players hit at least one three-pointer against Virginia Tech. The Blue Devils also accomplished this against High Point and Boston College. Duke had not featured five different players hitting a trey since the 2014-15 campaign when it did it twice.
• Since scoring 15 points at Louisville,
Azana Baines has scored nine points and hit only 3-of-18 field goals.

• Duke features the fourth-tallest squad in school history standing with an average height of 73.21. The three tallest teams were in 2016-17 (73.38), 2011-12 and 2014-15 (73.25).

The Series with NC State..
Duke and NC State will meet for the 80th time in school history with the Wolfpack leading the series 43-36. NCSU has won five out of the last six meetings, including two in a row.
In games played in Durham, N.C., Duke owns a 19-16 mark, including wins in 14 out of the last 15 games. It marks the first time since Feb. 17, 2000 that NC State is ranked higher than Duke in a contest in Cameron Indoor Stadium. In that contest, 14th-ranked Duke knocked off seventh-ranked NC State, 70-64.
Coach P has totaled a 9-8 record against NC State.
Against the Ranked...
Duke owns a 0-3 record against ranked opponents in 2019-20 and has lost 12 straight versus ranked foes.
So far this season, the Blue Devils have dropped games to three top 10 teams -- Texas A&M, South Carolina and Louisville. All three of those games were on the road.
Duke has averaged only 53.0 points, while allowing 76.0 points. The Blue Devils have hit 37.3 percent of her field goals and averaged 20.7 turnovers a game.
In the last game at Louisville,
Haley Gorecki collected 20 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Azana Baines has averaged 11.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals in the three games.
Leaonna Odom has averaged only 7.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals this season.
Odom Named National Player of the Week...
Over the last three games, senior
Leaonna Odom has stepped up her game averaging 19.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 1.7 assists. She collected 20 points at Clemson and 23 at Syracuse, which marked the second time this season and third time in her career she has notched back-to-back 20-point games.
She has hit 67.5 percent of her shots on 27-of-40 field goals over the last three contests. At Syracuse, Odom collected her third double-double of the season with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while hitting 11-of-14 field goals.
Odom earned ACC Player of the Week and USBWA National Player of the Week for the first time in her four-year career for her efforts against Clemson and Syracuse. She averaged 19.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals on the week. She hit 76.0 percent of her field goals in the two contests.
Tough Defense...
In ACC contests, Duke's defense has been among the best in the conference in a number of key categories.
In nine league games, Duke's defense ranks in the top five in scoring defense (4th, 59.89), field goal percentage defense (4th, 37.8), steals (1st, 11.78) and three-point field goal percentage defense (1st, 25.0).
Tight League Games...
Duke has been so close in ACC play but has not been able to close out four of the games.
Six of Duke's nine ACC games have been decided by six points or less. It is one away from tying the school record of seven set in 1995-96 and 1988-89.
Meanwhile, other seasons with six games decided by 6 points or less: 2008-09, 1994-95, 1993-94, 1989-90, 1987-88, 1986-87 and 1984-85.
The 1988-89 season all occurred during the regular season, but all other seasons included games played in the ACC Tournament.
Best All-Around Player...
No Duke player has averaged at least 17.0 points, 3.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds in back-to-back seasons.
Haley Gorecki averaged 17.2 points, 3.9 assists, and 7.1 rebounds last year and is averaging 17.9 points, 4.1 assists and 6.3 rebounds this year.
Alana Beard came closest to these thresholds, averaging 19.8 points, 4.4 assists, and 6.1 rebounds in her sophomore year and 22.0 points, 3.0 assists, and 6.9 rebounds her junior year.
At Clemson, Gorecki totaled 16 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals. It marked her second time over the last two years she has notched all-around numbers like this (16 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and three steals vs. Pitt on Feb. 3, 2019). She is one of only three Duke players to register numbers like this since the 2011 campaign -- Lexie Brown (twice), Jasmine Thomas.
Double-Doubles/20-Point Games...
Haley Gorecki owns four double-doubles on the season, which ranks tied for 10th in the ACC. She also ranks tied for sixth with six games with 20 or more points.
Over the last two years, Gorecki has notched 17 games with 20 or more points, which is the most in the ACC.

She ranks ninth in field goal percentage (44.0), eighth in free throw percentage (82.6), tied for 13th in three-point field goals made (2.0), third in minutes played (37.86) and eighth in three-point percentage (34.0).
Gorecki also ranks eighth in assists (4.6) and tied for second in steals (2.7).
At Home in 2019-20...
Duke has totaled a 9-2 record at home this season. In those games, the Blue Devils are averaging 71.8 points, while holding opponents to 60.5 points.
Haley Gorecki has averaged 18.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.3 steals at home this season. She has notched four games with 20 or more points.
Miela Goodchild has drained 25 three-pointers for a 40.3 percentage. Over two seasons at Duke, Goodchild has hit 58-of-138 three-pointers at home in Cameron for a 42.0 percentage.
