DURHAM, N.C. – The women's Duke swimming and diving team were placed ninth in the final poll of the regular season by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America, the organization released Wednesday.
Â
The ranking is the highest in Blue Devil history, breaking the previous high (11th) set by the women in the Nov. 13 edition of the poll.
Â
The Blue Devils jump to ninth after receiving votes in the previous poll on Jan. 22. Since that poll, the Duke women topped No. 15 North Carolina, 152.50-147.50, on senior day at Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion in Durham.
Â
Duke is one of six ACC teams to make an appearance in the women's top-25 and one of three conference teams in the top-10.
Â
The Blue Devils continue action at the ACC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Greensboro Aquatics Center in Greensboro, N.C. Duke is in fifth place with 130 points after night one of the four-day meet.
