DURHAM, N.C.—Duke men's soccer players
Brandon Williamson and
Sergi Nus recently took a step towards continuing their soccer careers at the next level. Williamson was acquired by Loudoun United and Nus is on trial at FK Kauno Žalgiris out of Lithuania.
Loudoun United FC plays in the United Soccer League Championship Division and is the USL affiliate to Major League Soccer D.C. United. Loudon United FC is beginning its second season after going 11-17-6 in its inaugural campaign.

Brandon Williamson back as a local guy and former academy player. Not only is he an athletic two-way player, he's also smart, technically gifted and has a great range of passing. I think he'll come in and immediately contribute in the central midfield area," Ryan Martin, Loudoun United Head Coach, said.
Williamson graduated from Duke in December after a solid career with the Blue Devils. A three-year starter in the center midfield, the native of Gainesville, Va., native garnered All-ACC second team and all-region third team honors in 2018 while helping
Duke to one of its most successful campaigns in recent years. For his career, Williamson played in 52 games with 46 starting assignments and totaled four goals and four assists for 12 points.
A product of the D.C. United Academy, Williamson started with the club at age 12, playing with the U-14 team. He went on to spend the next six years with the club before moving on to Duke. The USL season for Loudoun United FC opens March 7 against Philadelphia Union II.
FK Kauno Žalgiris is in its preseason schedule, kicking off 2020 Feb. 28 against Milan AX Armani Exchange. In a pair of exhibition matches, Nus saw action, including going the full 90 in a 2-2 draw. He played 46 minutes in the second contest last Saturday.
Nus, a graduate student transfer to Duke from Virginia, also has traveled for sessions with MLS clubs. A two-time All-ACC defender, Nus was in and out of the lineup this season for the Blue Devils after a strong career with the Cavaliers. He was a two-year starter for Virginia, helping the Cavaliers to 16 shutouts.
