Setting the Scene...
Winners of six out of the last seven contests, the Duke women's basketball team (17-11, 11-6 ACC) will travel down Tobacco Road to face rival North Carolina (16-12, 7-10) Sunday, March 1 at 2 p.m., in Carmichael Arena.
The game will be aired live on the ESPN2 with Sam Ravech (PXP) and Chelsea Shine (Color) calling the action. It will also be carried on the Duke Sports Network via WDNC AM 620, TuneIn app and www.GoDuke.com with Chris Edwards (PXP) on the air beginning at 1:45 p.m. (ET).
What is Next?...
Duke will head to Greensboro, N.C., to compete in the ACC Championship that will be played in the Greensboro Coliseum. The Blue Devils will play either Thursday or Friday in their opening contest depending on Sunday's results.

Haley Gorecki is the only power five conference player nationally to average over 18.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals. Gorecki is also the only player nationally with over 500 points, 175 rebounds, 120 assists, 50 steals and 15 blocked shots.
3) Duke closes the regular season with three straight road contests for the first time since the 1993-94 campaign.
Strength of Schedule...
The Blue Devils feature the fifth-toughest schedule nationally -- Oklahoma (1), Ohio State (2), Oregon (3), Oklahoma State (4), Duke (5), Oregon State (6), Virginia (7), Maryland (8), Auburn (9) and Washington State (10) round out the top 10.
Duke's five non-conference losses in 2019-20 came against teams that have collected a combined 119-24 record.
The Blue Devils are currently ranked No. 26 in the latest RPI.
Storylines/Other Blue Devil Notes...
• Duke has used the same starting lineup for each of the last 12 games.
• The Blue Devils have won five straight regular season finales with the last loss coming on March 2, 2014 in Chapel Hill (64-60).
• Duke's eight assists at Virginia Tech was a season low in ACC action, while its two three-pointers made was a season low overall.

Haley Gorecki has hit only 2-of-15 three-pointers the last two games and 5-of-28 the last four contests.

Mikayla Boykin will play her first collegiate contest in Carmichael Arena in Chapel Hill, after being injured the last two years.
• Duke's win at eighth-ranked NC State was the first win over a top-10 team since Feb. 19, 2018 versus No. 9 Florida State (79-66). It was the first road win over a top-10 team since Feb. 2, 2015 at No. 8 Louisville (66-58).
• Over the last five games, sophomore
Onome Akinbode-James has averaged 7.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals, 1.4 blocks and 1.2 assists. This included 12 points and six rebounds at NC State. It marked the first double-figure scoring game since Dec. 4 at Nebraska (13).

Leaonna Odom has notched double-figure scoring in 12 straight contests, while averaging 15.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.2 assists. She has hit 56.3 percent from the field during those games.

Haley Gorecki currently ranks second in the ACC with 155 made free throws and third with 180 attempts, while ranking third with an 86.1 free throw percentage. Her 155 free throws made ranks tied for fifth nationally.
• Duke has won 10 out of the last 13 and eight out of the last 10 contests.

Haley Gorecki has become the eighth-quickest Blue Devil to notch 1,300 points. She accomplished this mark in 94 career games. The school record was 63 by Chris Moreland.
• Duke blocked a season-high 10 shots against Virginia Feb. 20 and ranks fifth in the ACC (4.25).

Haley Gorecki is the only player in the ACC who ranks in the top five in the conference in scoring, top 20 in rebounding and top 10 in assists.

Haley Gorecki averaged 36.0 minutes a contest last season and is averaging 36.3 minutes in 2019-20. She would become the first Blue Devil to average 35.0 minutes or more in back-to-back seasons.
• Duke trailed, 40-33, heading into the fourth quarter against Notre Dame and rallied for a 50-47 victory. It was the Blue Devils' largest comeback in the fourth quarter since the NCAA moved to the quarter system in 2015-16.
• For the sixth time this season, Duke had five players hit at least one three-pointer at Miami. Duke had not featured five different players hitting a trey since the 2014-15 campaign when it did it twice.

Leaonna Odom ranks fifth in the ACC in field goal percentage, at 54.2 percent per game.

The Series with North Carolina...
Duke and North Carolina will meet for the 101st time in school history with the series tied, 50-50. The Blue Devils have won four in a row and 11 out of the last 12 contests.
In games played in Chapel Hill, the Blue Devils have totaled a 15-28 mark, but have won four out of the last five.
Coach P owns a 20-11 record versus the Tar Heels.
Last Meeting...
Led by an all-around great game by graduate
Haley Gorecki, Duke took down rival UNC, 71-61. Gorecki registered a game-high 25 points, while also pulling down 12 rebounds and dishing eight assists in 39 minutes.
The Blue Devils opened the second half on a 12-0 run and took a 46-32 lead at the 6:04 mark.
Boykin added 11 points for Duke, while
Leaonna Odom and
Jade Williams chipped in 10 points each.
The Blue Devils hit 47.5 percent for the game and held the Tar Heels to only 27.1 percent shooting, including 12.5 percent in the third quarter. North Carolina's 27.1 percent shooting was the lowest for it and the lowest Duke has held an opponent this season.
Another Impressive Mark...
At Virginia Tech,
Haley Gorecki scored seven points in the first half to reach 500 points on the season. She became just the sixth Blue Devil in school history to notch back-to-back 500-point seasons -- Alana Beard, Lexie Brown, Monique Currie, Chris Moreland and Jasmine Thomas.
Blue Devils Against the Tar Heels...
In four career games versus North Carolina,
Haley Gorecki has averaged 23.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.3 steals. In her first two meetings, she totaled 28 points and 26 points, before collecting a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds last year. Gorecki notched 25 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists earlier this season.
She has hit 15-of-35 three-pointers in the four contests. Gorecki has notched three straight double-doubles versus the Tar Heels.
Kyra Lambert has averaged 11.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.0 steals in five games. She has hit 7-of-16 treys.
Over her last three games,
Jade Williams has averaged 12.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.7 steals. She has hit 18-of-30 field goals as well.

Turnarounds...
After opening ACC action with a 1-3 record, the Blue Devils have since won 10 out of the last 13 contests.
It is the best turnaround for the Blue Devils since 2017-18 when Duke opened 0-2 in the league and then won nine out of its next 11 contests. Duke finished with an 11-5 record in the ACC that season.

Leaonna Odom is currently in 18th place on Duke's all-time scoring list with 1,357 points and is 10 points from matching Haley Peters (1,367) for 17th.

Jade Williams totaled double-figure scoring in five straight contests, before notching four points at NC State

Haley Gorecki has made 323 career free throws and is only eight shy of moving into a tie for seventh along with Sue Harnett (331).
In 2019-20, Gorecki has made 155 free throws, which ranks fifth on Duke's single season charts. She is 12 away from matching Katie Meier (167 in 1989-90. The school record is 201 by Alana Beard in 2002-03.
Leaonna Odom owns 584 made field goals and needs 45 to move into a tie for ninth on Duke's all-time charts.
Gorecki Honored...
Graduate
Haley Gorecki was named one of 10 finalists for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award recognizing the top shooting guards nationally.
Gorecki was also named one of 30 midseason candidates for the Citizen Naismith Trophy for Women's Player of the Year.
Boykin Big Last Six Games...
Mikayla Boykin has averaged 8.2 points, 4.7 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals over her last six games. During that stretch, she has hit 21-of-44 field goals (47.7%) and 6-of-15 treys (40.0%).
