DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke baseball team was picked to finish fourth in the 2020 ACC Coastal Division in a poll of the conference's 14 head coaches, announced Thursday by the league office.
Twelve coaches picked Miami to win the Coastal Division, while North Carolina and Georgia Tech each received one first-place vote apiece. The Hurricanes tallied 93 points, ahead of both North Carolina and Georgia Tech, who tallied 68 points and 66 points, respectively. Duke placed fourth with 65 points, while Virginia (55), Virginia Tech (27) and Pittsburgh (18) rounded out the teams in the division.
Louisville, picked as the overall champion, led the way in the Atlantic Division with 97 points, followed by Florida State (79), NC State (68), Clemson (52), Wake Forest (52), Boston College (27) and Notre Dame (17). The Cardinals were selected as the division favorites by 13 coaches, while Clemson received one first-place vote.
Nine different ACC teams have been ranked in the six national polls that have been announced to date. The Blue Devils come into the 2020 campaign ranked within the top 20 in five of the six national collegiate baseball polls. Duke landed at No. 11 in Perfect Game's Preseason Top 25, marking the highest-ever preseason ranking in program history. Additionally the Blue Devils were ranked No. 15 by

National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), while checking in at No. 20 in the USA Today Baseball Coaches Poll.
The Blue Devils open the 2020 season Feb. 14-16, hosting Army West Point for a three-game home series.
