DURHAM, N.C. – Highlighting some of the best moments of its 23-4 season, Duke softball looks back on their eighth-best moment of the 2020 campaign.
MOMENT NO. 8 | JACKSON GOES OFF
Freshman
Kamryn Jackson made a statement against Rutgers on Saturday night of the Big 10/ACC Challenge (Feb. 15), recording a career-best 3-for-3 performance. In the first inning of the contest, Jackson launched a three-run home run – the first of her collegiate career. Jackson went back-to-back, sending another shot out of the park in the second inning with a two-run homer to left.
The rookie recorded her third and final hit of the evening with an RBI single to center field in the third frame while bringing home another run on a walk in the same inning. Jackson finished the contest with seven RBI, marking the most in a single game in school history.
In Duke's 22-1 five-inning victory over Rutgers, the Blue Devils also broke numerous team records including most hits (18), doubles (6), runs scored (22), runs per inning (10) and RBI (21) in a single game.

KAMRYN'S REFLECTION
"My swing was feeling really good in batting practice and I had the opportunity to play so I just went up to bat feeling confident and focusing on good pitches. I was excited when I hit my home runs and my teammates were very supportive of me, cheering me on. My team helped me out by getting on base so I could hit them in so without their hits and them getting on base, I wouldn't be able to score them. Overall, we scored more than 20 runs in that game – we were all hitting really well and with a lot of confidence."
