DURHAM, N.C. – Eight Duke swimmers and divers were named to the 2020 All-ACC Academic Team, the conference announced Friday.
The eight Blue Devils representing head coach
Dan Colella's squad were
Nathaniel Hernandez,
Easop Lee,
Alyssa Marsh,
Halle Morris,
Emma Shuppert,
Sarah Snyder,
Ali Watson and
Miles Williams. Hernandez headlined the group with his fourth All-Academic accolade while Morris and Marsh earned the second honors of their careers.
"We are incredibly proud of these young men and women's accomplishments in the classroom as well as the pool," Colella said. "It is something we pride ourselves on, that we are able to achieve great accomplishments as athletes while reaching their dreams academically."
All but one of the ACC's swimming and diving programs were represented on the All-ACC Academic Team, with Louisville's Nicolas Albiero, Florida State's Molly Carlson and Virginia's Paige Madden taking home ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year accolades. Duke's eight selections marks the seventh consecutive season the Blue Devils have placed six or more student-athletes on the team.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Duke has now placed 103 on All-ACC Academic teams since the awards inception in 2007.
