With the 2020 men's lacrosse season cut short after just eight games, GoDuke.com caught up with junior
Cameron Badour from Ottawa, Canada. Duke student-athletes resumed online classes as a new normal has set in for the current Blue Devils.
Catch up with Cam below.
GoDuke.com: What does a "normal" day look like for you currently?
Cameron Badour:
Wake up around 930 make breakfast. Have a coffee.
Go for a run or do sprints, then go lifts weights in my basement
Go to my online classes and do my school work
Free time for the rest of the day to watch shows/play cards
GD: Do you sense your experience in Ottawa with social distancing and the restrictions are different than your teammates in the U.S.?
CB: Ottawa is pretty locked down, very much similar to the rest of the US. However, my experience is different because I'm dealing with much colder weather, so I am definitely jealous of all of the guys still back in sunny Durham or in warmer areas. It just snowed here last night (April 14th).
GD: What has it been like going to class online for these past few weeks?
CB: Definitely a different learning experience, but many of my classes have stayed the same work wise, so there isn't that many surprises.
GD: What books, TV, or movies have you read or watched in the past few weeks?
CB: I have watched a lot of great TV shows over the past month, my two favourite have to be Ozarks, and Animal Kingdom
GD: Have you picked up any new hobbies or done anything fun with the family?
CB: I wouldnt say it's a new hobby, but my family gets together almost every night and plays cards.
GD: What do you miss about being on campus?
CB: My teammates first and foremost. As well, being out on the field every day competing right now. I miss the great weather and just being at school in such a great environment
GD: What have been the go-to weekend activities for yourself and the family?
Cooking a nice dinner where everyone chips in to help out. Playing cards and watching movies. When the weather gets a little nicer my mom is probably going to have my brothers and I doing a lot of yard work.
