DURHAM, N.C. – Over the course of the next few weeks, Duke softball is checking in with its six incoming freshmen who had their high school senior seasons cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The next recruit check-in is with
Julia Boyet – a utility player from St. Louis, Mo.
How has it been adjusting to school online?
Julia: "Online school has been very different, but my teachers have been doing a really good at helping us adjust and keeping the year going as planned. I think the hardest thing is not seeing my friends every day and missing out on the traditions that we've been looking forward to since freshman year."
As a recruit, what was it like for you to see Duke's success this season?
Julia: "It was really awesome to see how well the team did this year, especially as a recruit. It gets me excited to join and do my part to keep the good things going. I think my favorite game was against No. 3-ranked Texas when they won in a really tight game. I enjoyed seeing how well the team played together this year and I was really sad to hear they wouldn't be able to finish their already record-breaking season."
