DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University women's golf head coach
Dan Brooks announced Wednesday the squad's 2021 spring schedule, which includes five regular season tournaments.
Due to COVID-19, the Blue Devils' schedule for the spring will keep them relatively local so the team can drive to all five regular season events. Duke will open the 2021 slate Feb. 21-22 in Kiawah Island, S.C., for the Palmetto Spring Intercollegiate, which will be played at Turtle Point Golf Club.
The Blue Devils will play three tournaments in the month of March starting with the Gamecock Intercollegiate March 1-3 in Columbia, S.C., at the Columbia Country Club. Duke will also compete in the Valspar Augusta Invitational on March 13-14 in Augusta, Ga., and The Big Four Challenge on March 20 at Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C.
Duke will close regular season action at the Cavalier Match Play April 6-7 in Charlottesville, Va., at the Birdwood Golf Course.
The ACC Championship will once again be contested at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., April 15-18.
The NCAA Regional Championship will be held May 10-12 at one of the following locations – Baton Rouge, La., Columbus, Ohio, Louisville, Ky., and Stanford, Calif. The NCAA Championship will move to Scottsdale, Ariz., May 22-27 at the Raptor Course at Grayhawk Golf Club.
Duke last played a team event March 6-8, 2020 as the Blue Devils placed third at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Brooks, in his 36th season at the helm of the Blue Devils, has guided Duke to seven NCAA Championships, 20 ACC Championships and a NCAA-record 137 all-time victories.
