Michael Rothenberg was named Third-Team Preseason All-America by
D1Baseball, as announced by the publication on Monday.

Rothenberg is the first Blue Devil to earn preseason All-America honors this season.

The Boca Raton, Fla., native returns for his senior season at Duke, leading the Blue Devils at the plate as he started all 16 games in the shortened 2020 season. He boasted a .551 on-base percentage to lead the ACC while leading the team with a .349 clip (minimum 10 at bats) and 17 RBI. Rothenberg placed second in the league with eight hit-by-pitch and tied for sixth in walks (15).

Going into the 2021 season, Rothenberg looks to lead the 15th-ranked Blue Devils. He enters the season having reached a base in his last 24 consecutive games.
