DURHAM – Two Duke divers, freshman
Margo O'Meara and junior
Ali Watson, are prepped to compete at the USA Diving Winter National Championships in Bloomington, Ind., Tuesday through Saturday.
A native of St. Louis, Mo., O'Meara has excelled in her few months of collegiate competition. She will compete in the synchronized three-meter, one-meter and three-meter events. The rookie has twice been named ACC Diver of the Week and has placed first in nine of the 10 springboard events she has competed in. Previously this year, she became the one-meter and three-meter 2021 USA Diving Junior National Championship gold medalist.
Watson, a two-time CSCAA All-American, will compete on the platform. One of the top platform divers in the ACC, the native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has been named All-ACC twice, finishing third as a freshman and second as a sophomore at the ACC championships. Most recently, Watson placed first in platform diving in Duke's tri-meet with Boston College and UNC Wilmington and the 2021 Wolfpack Invitational.
