DURHAM – Rookie running back Deon Jacksonscored his first NFL touchdown for the Indianapolis Colts in its 31-0 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday to highlight 13 former Duke football players during the 13th week of play in the National Football League.
Â
Jackson finished with six rushes for 19 yards, including his three-yard score. His touchdown was the first rushing touchdown scored by a Duke running back in the NFL since Juwan Thompson (Denver Broncos) did so against the San Diego Chargers on Oct. 30, 2016.
Â
Fellow rookie Los Angeles Charger Chris Rumph II also recorded a career milestone over the weekend in the Chargers' 41-22 win at Cincinnati on Sunday. Rumph II earned his first career sack when he broke into the backfield to take down Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow for a five-yard loss.
Â
Veteran cornerback Ross Cockrell recorded three tackles to assist Tampa Bay to a 30-17 win at division-rival Atlanta.
Â
Rookie Victor Dimukeje also saw playing time in a meaningful win for the Arizona Cardinals. The team secured a victory on the road at Chicago, 33-22, to improve to 10-2, the best record in the NFL.
Buffalo Bills linebacker Joe Giles-Harris earned a call up to the active roster in the Bills' game against New England on Monday Night Football. It was Giles-Harris' first appearance of the 2021 season as the Bills fell to the Patriots, 14-10.
