Duke Sets Spring Practice Dates; Begins Friday

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke head coach David Cutcliffe announced Thursday the program's spring practice dates as well as the date for the annual Spring Showcase.
The Blue Devils will use the allotted 15 practice sessions allowed by the NCAA during the spring in preparation for the 2021 season. One of those practice sessions will be devoted to the team's annual Spring Showcase, which is set for Saturday, March 27 at 10 a.m. Additional information on the Spring Showcase will be released at a later date.

Cutcliffe enters his 14th year at the helm of the Blue Devil program. Earlier this offseason, Cutcliffe announced changes and additions within the Blue Devil coaching staff. Re'quan Boyette and Jeff Faris were elevated to Co-Offensive Coordinators with Boyette also in charge of the wide receivers and Faris the quarterbacks. Associate Head Coach Trooper Taylor shifts from leading the wide receivers to the cornerbacks, while Sam McGrath was promoted to an assistant coach in charge of the linebackers. Cutcliffe closed things out with the addition of Calvin Magee as an assistant coach. He will take lead of the running backs.

The Blue Devils return 81 lettermen to its 2021 roster, including wide receiver Jake Bobo, running back Mataeo Durant, cornerback Leonard Johnson and center Jack Wohlabaugh. Six members of Duke's 2021 Signing Class – linebacker Tre Freeman, defensive lineman Aaron Hall, defensive back Brandon Johnson, linebacker Nick Morris Jr., quarterback Jordan Moore, and athlete Joshua Pickett – enrolled in January and will participate in spring drills.
Practices are closed to the media and the public, but fans are encouraged to follow Duke's social media platforms using the handle @DukeFOOTBALL to keep up with the Blue Devils throughout the spring. Periodic updates also will be available via GoDuke.com.
The Blue Devils open 2021 on the road at Charlotte on Sept. 4, before a span of three-straight home games at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium against North Carolina A&T (Sept. 11), Northwestern (Sept. 18), and Kansas (Sept. 25). Â
