WALLACE, N.C. – Graduate student
Steven DiLisio leads three Duke men's golfers playing individually at the Seahawk Intercollegiate as the senior is 4-under through 36 holes and tied for fifth at River Landing GC in Wallace, N.C.
DiLisio opened with a sizzling, bogey-free 67 in Monday's first round and followed it with a 73 in round two to find himself six off the lead with 18 holes to play on Tuesday. For DiLisio, the 67 marked his second lowest career 18-hole score, trailing a pair of 66s he fired in 2018-19 and 2016-17.
Freshman
Cameron Martinez-Piedra rebounded from a first-round 74 with a five-under 67 in the second round – the lowest round by a Blue Devil freshman this season and tied for 10th lowest round by a freshman in program history.
Piedra's second-round card was highlighted by six birdies and just one bogey and the freshman is tied for seventh on the leaderboard at 3-under 141.
Senior
Drew Powell had a career second round as he shook off a 77 in the first round with a 4-under 68 in the afternoon. The bogey-free 68 marked his first round in the 60s as a Blue Devil and matched the best 18-hole score of his career.
UNCW's Blake McShea leads the tournament at 10-under par after rounds of 65 and 69.
