HISTORY WITH THE DEMON DEACONS
The Blue Devils and Demon Deacons will meet for the 79th time on Friday as Duke leads the all-time series, 44-34. Duke and Wake Forest met twice during the abbreviated fall campaign, including one away and one home match. The Demon Deacons edged the Blue Devils on Oct. 23 in overtime, 2-1, before Duke notched its first win of the season with a 2-0 shutout on its home turf on Oct. 25.

SCOUTING WAKE FOREST
Wake Forest is off to a 1-1 start in the spring portion of its 2020-21 season, putting together a 4-9 overall record. The Demon Deacons opened their 2021 slate with a 3-0 shutout victory over Boston College as freshman Hannah Maxwell tallied two of three goals, earning ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors with Duke freshman
Darcy Bourne. Most recently, Wake Forest dropped a 2-0 decision to North Carolina on Saturday, March 13.

NATIONAL RANKING
The Duke field hockey team checked in at No. 12 in the first Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll of the 2020-21 campaign. All seven ACC teams were represented in the poll with No. 1 North Carolina, No. 2 Louisville, No. 8 Syracuse, No. 12 Duke, No. 13 Wake Forest, No. 14 Virginia and No. 15 Boston College.
