DURHAM, N.C. – Nineteen student-athletes of the Duke field hockey team were recognized on the 2020 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, as announced by the organization on Thursday morning. Nineteen student-athletes are the most in program history as 15 were tabbed from the 2015 team.
Duke combined for a 3.73 grade-point average during the fall semester. The Blue Devils selected to the list were:

Piper Hampsch,
Caroline Hanan,
Mary Harkins,
Charlotte Johnson,
Grace Kim,
Hannah Miller,
Eva Nunnink,
Lily Posternak,
Kelsey Reznick,
Olivia Sahaydak,
Shea Tatara,
Libby Thompson and
Josie Varney.
The Division I National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2020-21 academic year. This year, over 1,200 student-athletes from more than 75 DI institutions received recognition.
Three DI academic awards remain to be announced – the NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction (March 25), NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Awards (March 29) and NFHCA Division I National Scholar-Athlete (June 15).
