DURHAM – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the latest team, individual and doubles rankings Wednesday with four members of the Duke women's tennis team ranked in the singles ledger, while the Blue Devils were eighth as a team.
Senior
Kelly Chen leads Duke with a No. 17 singles ranking, while sophomore
Chloe Beck (20),
Georgia Drummy (78) and
Margaryta Bilokin (87) were listed.
A product of Cerritos, Calif., Chen has totaled an 8-6 ledger so far this season, while posting a 104-29 career mark. Beck is coming off collecting the biggest win of her short career against sixth-ranked Cameron Morra of No. 1 North Carolina in the last match. She is 13-3 on the season, including an 11-2 ledger in dual match play.
Since joining the Blue Devils this spring, Drummy has collected a 12-3 record in singles play and a 2-0 mark against ranked opponents. She is 5-1 this season versus ACC foes. Bilokin has collected an 11-5 overall mark so far in 2021.
Four different Blue Devil doubles teams were ranked Wednesday headlined by Bilokin and
Meible Chi at No. 5. Beck and
Karolina Berankova are No. 9, Beck and Chi are No. 26, while Chen and Drummy are No. 36.
Duke's tandem of Bilokin/Chi are 9-2 this year, including a win against Florida State's seventh-ranked duo of Victoria Allen and Petra Hule. Beck/Berankova have collected an 11-3 ledger, Beck/Chi are 1-0, while Chen and Drummy are 11-2, including 10-0 in dual match action.
In the ITA team rankings, the Blue Devils (10-3, 5-2 ACC) are No. 8 overall. North Carolina continues to hold the top slot, while Texas, Georgia, Florida State, Pepperdine, Northwestern, Baylor, Duke, Ohio State and UCLA round out the top 10.
The first Tennis Channel/USTA College Tennis Top 25 poll was also released Wednesday with Duke coming in at No. 7. North Carolina was No. 1 followed by Texas, Georgia, UCLA, Pepperdine, Florida State, Duke, Ohio State, NC State and Stanford in the top 10.
Duke will next travel to Charlottesville, Va., to take on 13th-ranked Virginia Saturday, March 27 at 1 p.m.
