DURHAM – The Duke women's tennis team will return home this week for its final three regular season contests in Durham, N.C., with Notre Dame (9-9, 3-7 ACC) kicking off the action on Monday, March 29 at 10 a.m., at Ambler Tennis Stadium or Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center.
THE SERIES WITH NOTRE DAME
Duke and Notre Dame will tangle for the 27th time in school history with the Blue Devils leading the series, 23-3. The Blue Devils are riding a 10-match win streak in the series and have won all seven contests taking place at home.
NOTRE DAME IN THE RANKINGS
Notre Dame features Page Freeman (74) in the singles rankings, while Ally Bojczuk/Julia Lilien (11), Cameron Corse/Freeman (12) and Yashna Yellayi/Meghan Coleman (43) are in the doubles ledger.
WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME
The last meeting between the Blue Devils and Irish came on March 31, 2019 as the Blue Devils squeaked out a 4-3 victory over Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. Duke won the doubles point and then received singles wins by

DASSO TO FACE ALMA MATER
Blue Devil assistant coach
Michelle Dasso will face her alma mater, Notre Dame, Monday as she is a 2001 graduate. Dasso was one of the most decorated women's tennis players in Notre Dame history and was the Irish's first four-time All-American. She was named the ITA National Senior Player of the year in 2001 and still holds almost every Notre Dame record, including career singles victories (140), season singles victories (40) and combined wins in one season (74).
IN THE ITA TEAM RANKINGS
The Blue Devils currently are No. 8 nationally heading into the match against Notre Dame. Over the last four seasons, Duke has been ranked in the top-10 in 47 of the last 51 ITA rankings.
DUKE IN THE INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS
Duke features four ranked singles student-athletes – Chen (17),
Chloe Beck (20),
Georgia Drummy (78) and
Margaryta Bilokin (87). The Blue Devils also feature four doubles on the national list – Bilokin/Chi at No. 5. Beck/
Karolina Berankova are No. 9, Beck/Chi are No. 26, while Chen/Drummy are No. 36.
CHI MOVING UP WINS LIST
A product of Weston, Fla., Chi currently features a 127-37 all-time singles mark, which is good for fifth on Duke's all-time wins list. She needs eight more singles wins to move into a tie for fourth along with Julie Exum (135-41). Chi also features 38 career ACC singles wins, which ranks tied for second along with
Kaitlyn McCarthy and
Reka Zsilinszka. She needs three more league victories to match
Ellyse Hamlin (41) for the Duke record.
Chi owns a 218-76 combined singles and doubles wins over her Duke career, which ranks seventh on Duke's all-time charts. She will move into a tie for fourth along with Megan Miller, Amanda Johnson and Amanda Granson with two more wins (220).
IN SINGLES ACTION
Four different Blue Devils have pushed past the double-digit singles wins ledger this season with Chi leading the way with a 15-3 record. She has collected a 12-2 dual match mark and a 7-1 ACC record. Dating back to the 2018-19 campaign, Chi has won 15 out of her last 16 ACC dual match singles contests.
Beck has collected a 13-3 singles mark and 6-1 ACC ledger. Drummy owns a 12-3 ledger, Bilokin has totaled an 11-6 record, Chen owns an 8-7 record and Berankova has a 7-8 mark.
DOUBLES ACTION
In doubles action, Beck and Berankova as well as Chen and Drummy owns a team-best 11 doubles wins on the year. Chen/Drummy have won 10 straight matches and owns an 11-2 record. The duo are 10-0 in dual match action and 4-0 in the ACC. Beck/Berankova have totaled an 11-3 record, including 8-2 in dual action.
The Blue Devils' duo of Bilokin and Chi have collected a 9-2 ledger, including a 5-2 mark in conference play. Since getting paired together last season, Bilokin/Chi have notched a 13-5 record, including a 7-2 ledger in conference action.
Dating back to last season, Duke has won 16 out of the last 18 doubles points in dual matches.
Due to injuries, Chi and
Hannah Zhao saw action for the first time this season and knocked off the 21st-ranked duo of Emma Navarro and Rosie Johanson of Virginia (6-4). Chen and
Ema Lazic also played together for the first time and collected a 6-3 win over 41st-ranked Vivian Glozman and Amber O'Dell of Virginia. Chi/Zhao moved to 5-1 all-time in doubles as a unit, but marked the first time since the 2019-20 campaign the tandem took the court together.
DRUMMY, BECK MISSES MISS MATCHES
Drummy missed the North Carolina and Virginia contests with an ankle injury. She is listed as day-to-day. Since transferring into the Blue Devils, Drummy has totaled a 12-3 singles mark and 5-1 ACC ledger. Drummy is also 12-3 in doubles action, including a 10-0 dual match record.
Beck missed the Virginia match with a hand injury and is also listed as day-to-day.
LAZIC, ZHAO SEE ACTION IN SINGLES
With injuries forcing Drummy and Beck to miss the match, Zhao saw her second straight dual match action and was impressive in the first set against Amber O'Dell winning, 6-2. She struggled in the second and third set to fall, 6-4, 6-1.
Lazic saw action in her first dual match singles action of her four-year career at Virginia and took the first set over Sofia Munera, 6-2. Lazic led 4-3 in the second set, before falling, 5-7, and the match was abandoned with her trailing 2-3, after Virginia clinched the win.
BECK REGISTERS TOP-10 WIN
On the road at top-ranked North Carolina on March 19, Beck collected an impressive singles' win against sixth-ranked Cameron Morra. After dropping a close first set, 6-7, Beck responded by cruising to a 6-0 second set victory. In a back-and-forth super-tiebreaker, Beck came out on top winning, 12-10. It marked the highest singles win of her short career and second against a top-10 opponent. Beck owns a 21-3 dual match record and 8-1 ACC mark over her Duke career.
HOME WIN STREAK
The Blue Devils currently feature a 53-match home winning streak at Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center and Ambler Tennis Stadium. The 53-match win streak is currently the longest among Power Five Conference teams with the next closest being North Carolina (43).
CHEN & CHI VERSUS RANKED
Over her four seasons with the Blue Devils, Chen has collected a 104-29 singles record. Of the 104 wins, 42 of them have come against ranked opponents. Chi posted her 37th all-time win against a ranked opponent at Virginia when she knocked off 18th-ranked Natasha Subhash. It marked the highest win against a ranked opponent since 11th-ranked Carla Touly in Nov. of 2018
MATCH-CLINCHING WINS
Chi clinched both of the Blue Devil wins against No. 5 Florida State and No. 30 Miami. She has now clinched 24 Duke wins during her tenure. Of the other Duke student-athletes on the 2021 roster, Chen has clinched 13, while Bilokin (9), Zhao (6) and Beck (4) have closed out Blue Devil wins over their career.
IN ACC ACTION
Duke has won 47 out of the last 53 ACC matches, including 29 straight home ACC wins.
WHAT IS NEXT
Duke will next host 11th-ranked NC State on Thursday, April 1 at 4 p.m., and then will host Wake Forest on Saturday, April 3 at 12 p.m., for senior day. It will mark the final two home matches for the Blue Devils in the 2021 regular season.
COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS
Due to the impact of COVID-19, Duke University will begin its spring sport program seasons without spectators at home events. Contests played on Duke's campus will include essential game management personnel and broadcast media. Traditional parking lots used by fans on game day will be closed.
