DURHAM, N.C. – Duke continues ACC baseball play this weekend as the Blue Devils host Pittsburgh for a three-game March 5-7 at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, N.C.

FIRST PITCH
- Duke (4-4) returns to conference play this weekend, hosting Pittsburgh (5-1) for a three-game series at the DBAP. The Blue Devils' first game will be Friday at 4 p.m., followed by first pitches at 3 p.m., on Saturday and 1 p.m., on Sunday.
- The Blue Devils currently lead the NCAA in doubles (29) and doubles per game (3.62). Redshirt junior Wil Hoyle, graduate Peter Matt and senior Michael Rothenberg all boast four doubles so far this season, tying for third most in the ACC.
- Duke recorded 40 hits in its series against Boston College to open conference play. It was the first time Duke recorded 10+ hits in each game of an ACC series since Pitt in 2019.
- Junior RJ Schreck recorded eight RBI in Duke's ACC-opening series against Boston College. Schreck leads the ACC in RBI (14) and RBI per game (2.00). Those same marks rank ninth and seventh nationally, respectively.Â
- The Blue Devils and Panthers meet for just the 23rd time in the two programs' histories. Duke leads the all-time series with a 14-8 record. Duke head coach Chris Pollard is 10-7 all-time against Pittsburgh, with all 17 meetings coming during his tenure at Duke.

DUKE VS. PITTSBURGH
Duke and Pittsburgh meet for just the 23rd time in the two programs' histories, dating back to 1939. Duke leads the series, 14-8, and holds a 10-4 advantage when the two teams meet in Durham. The Blue Devils swept the most recent meeting against Pittsburgh, a three-game ACC series in Durham in 2019. Duke secured the sweep in walk-off fashion as the Blue Devils scored in the bottom of the 10th to close out game three. Under head coach
Chris Pollard, Duke is 10-7 against the Panthers.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
After dropping their first game of the season, Pitt has won six straight by a combined score of 42-14. The Panthers enter the weekend after sweeping No. 9 Florida State in Tallahassee last weekend, earning the program's first series win over the Seminoles. Friday starter Mitch Myers was named ACC Pitcher of the Week after striking out 13 batters and allowing just two hits and two walks in six shutout innings to help Pitt take game one, 1-0. At the plate, the Panthers are led by Nico Popa who leads the team in batting average (.414), runs (nine), home runs (three), on-base percentage (.528), slugging percentage (.793) and tied to lead the team in hits with 12.

SCHRECK OFF TO HOT START
Junior
RJ Schreck leads the Blue Devils offensively this season as he's batting .464 with 13 hits, including three doubles and a team-leading three home runs. In addition, Schreck totals 14 RBI, including eight from the Boston College series to lead the ACC in conference play. Coming into the season, Schreck had a career batting average of .172 (15-for-87). The Los Angeles, Calif., native's three solo home runs this season are the first of his career. Schreck leads the team with five multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games.

DOUBLE-DIGIT HITS
Over the past four games, Duke has recorded 50 hits, including 10+ hits in each of its four games. This is the first time the Blue Devils have tallied 10+ hits in four consecutive games since April 2019 when Duke did so against Pittsburgh in a three-game series and then again the following Tuesday in a midweek contest against NC Central.
