DURHAM, N.C. – Following appearances by both teams in the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2012, eight Duke runners have been named to the All-ACC Academic Cross Country Team, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
Four Blue Devil men and four Blue Devil women were selected to this year's team. The men's team is represented by seniors
CJ Ambrosio and
Josh Romine, junior
Chris Theodore and sophomore
Zach Kinne. Seniors
Amanda Beach,
Sara Platek,
Michaela Reinhart and sophomore
Samantha Schadler were selected to the women's team.
Ambrosio, Reinhart and Schadler led the way at the ACC Championships, picking up All-ACC honors. Reinhart led all Duke athletes with a fourth-place finish, marking the best result by a Blue Devil runner since
Juliet Bottorff captured the ACC individual crown in 2013
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
