CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The second-ranked Duke women's golf program will close the regular season this week as the Blue Devils will compete in the Cavalier Match Play April 6-7 at the 6,118-yard, par-71 Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville, Va.
It will mark the second straight event that the Blue Devils will compete in match play as Duke recently played in the Big Four Challenge. The Blue Devils knocked off NC State, 4-1, and then dropped a 3-2 decision to Wake Forest.
Seeing action along with Duke (2) will be Virginia (12), Virginia Tech (14), Maryland (20), Louisville (48), North Carolina (52), NC State (92) and Richmond (129). Teams are listed in seed order and Golfstat rankings are in parentheses.
With the Blue Devils seeded No. 1, Duke will open play Tuesday against No. 8 seed Richmond. The match will start at 7:45 a.m., followed by match two in the afternoon from at either 12:15 p.m., or 1:35 p.m. Wednesday's action is scheduled to be open from 7:45 a.m., to 10:17 a.m.

Gina Kim, sophomore
Megan Furtney, sophomore
Erica Shepherd and freshman
Anne Chen.
There will also be an individual bracket that features Blue Devil freshman
Phoebe Brinker. The individuals will be seeded by Golfstat rankings as well – Lauren Walsh of Wake Forest (11), Brinker (16), Lois Kay Go of South Carolina (31), Mimi Rhodes of Wake Forest (53), Mathilde Claisse of South Carolina (157), Vanessa Knecht of Wake Forest (NR), TBD and Claire Hodges of Virginia (NR).
In the latest GolfStat Individual rankings, the Blue Devils have three in the top 75 – Shepherd (12), Brinker (16), Kim (75).
Following the Cavalier Match Play, Duke will head to Greensboro, N.C., for the ACC Championship April 15-18 at Sedgefield Country Club.
