DURHAM, N.C. ā After closing out a stellar four-year career at Duke with the women's golf program, senior
Jaravee Boonchant will make her professional debut this week at the Texas Women's Open from June 2-4 at the Bridges Course at Firewheel Golf Park in Garland, Texas. Ā
A total of 159 golfers will tee off in the tournament and will play 18 holes each day. Ā
Boonchant, who hails from Bangkok, Thailand, will leave Duke as one of the most decorated golfers in school history -- a four-time All-American, three-time All-ACC selection, three-time WGCA All-American Scholar, 2020 CoSIDA Academic American, two-time All-ACC Academic Team and three-time ACC Honor Roll selection. Ā
She collected the third-lowest stroke average in Duke history with a 71.99, ranked tied for fifth in school history with 54 rounds of even or under par and became the seventh Blue Devil to earn All-American accolades each of her four years.
In her final season at Duke, Boonchant posted a 72.23 stroke average and did not finish lower than tied for 20th in all four stroke play events.Ā She helped lead the Blue Devils to the 22nd ACC Championship in school history and an appearance in the semifinals of the NCAA Championship.Ā Boonchant was a part of two ACC titles and guided Duke to the 2019 NCAA Championship over her career.
Boonchant will tee off Wednesday beginning at 8 a.m., along with Kenzie Wright and Liv Schmidt.
Former Duke standout Celine Boutier won the 2020 event with rounds of 68, 64 and 67 for a 14-under-par ledger.Ā Ā
