DURHAM – The Atlantic Coast Conference released the 2021 All-ACC Academic Softball Team as six Blue Devils received the honor, as announced by the league office Monday morning.

Among the 38 student-athletes selected, Duke's six set a program record and tied with Clemson for the most on the team. Senior
Peyton St. George reeled in her third All-ACC Academic Team accolade while senior
Jameson Kavel and juniors
Deja Davis and
Kristina Foreman received the honor for the second year. Freshman
Gisele Tapia and junior
Shelby Walters earned the honor for the first time in their careers.

The Blue Devils put together a historic season with a 44-12 overall record, an ACC Championship title and its first NCAA appearance as the No. 13 national seed.

Davis was the program's first All-America selection while Walters and St. George joined her on all-region teams. Duke saw four All-ACC First Team honorees in Davis, Kavel, St. George and Walters while Foreman and Tapia were named to the 2021 ACC All-Tournament Team.

Minimum requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a 3.0 GPA for the current academic year, will be released in July.
