WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Duke swimming and diving squad swept UNCW at the David B. Allen Natatorium in Wilmington, N.C. The Duke women's team (2-0) earned a 187-107 victory, while the men's squad (1-1) picked up their first win of the season, 181-110.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore McKenna Smith topped her best time of the season in the women's 50-yard freestyle, finishing first with a time of 23.29. Senior Coleman Kredich also bested his top time of 2022 in the men's heat, swimming a time of 20.61.
- Both the men's and women's teams finished first in the 200-yard medley relay for the Blue Devils.
- In the 200-yard freestyle, sophomore Yixuan Chang finished first on the podium with a time of 1:50.98. The women swept the podium with Catherine Belyakov (1:52.07) and Mia Leko (1:52.39) finishing second and third. On the men's side, graduate David Hallaron also took home first place with a time of 1:39.50.
- Senior Matthew Knox finished third in the 200-yard freestyle, posting his best time of the season in the event (1:40.86).
- The Duke women swept the 100-yard backstroke with Emma Shuppert (55.05), Madeline Meredith (56.52) and Tatum Wall (56.72) finishing within a second of each other.
- Freshman Kaelyn Gridley bested junior Sarah Foley in the 100-yard breaststroke posting a time of 1:01.28. Foley swam a time of 1:01.36 on the day, earning a NCAA-B Cut time.
- In the men's heat of the 100-yard breaststroke, sophomore Michael Volpe and graduate student Cole Reznick tied for first, swimming a time of 56.72.
- Senior Chris Dalla Valle bested his top time in the 200-yard butterfly for the 2022 season and finishing first in the event with a time of 1:51.41.
- Redshirt senior Easop Lee finished on top of the podium on Saturday, swimming a time of 2:00.14 in the 200-yard women's backstroke. Sophomore Jack Christian also took home first in the 200-yard men's backstroke swimming his best time of the season (1:49.27).
- Senior Kate Mullin posted a first-place finish in both the one-meter (296.25) and three-meter dive (322.13). Her score of 296.25 in the one-meter event was the highest score posted by Duke this season, besting her score from the season-opening meet by 2.25 points.
- Junior diver Seamus Harding Jr. also posted first-place finishes in both the one-meter (309.30) and three-meter (332.33) dives. His one-meter score was the best of the season for Harding Jr., collecting another zone score, while his three-meter dive was good enough for his second zone score of the season.
