DURHAM – Duke track & field graduate student
Erin Marsh has been named Duke's PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week, following her silver medal in the women's pentathlon this past weekend at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Marsh finished runner-up in the pentathlon after totaling 4383 points over the course of the five events. Her overall point total improved her school record in the event by 39 points.
The Buford, Ga., native's performance featured a personal-best toss of 12.86m (42-2.25 feet) in the shot put and a season-best run of 2:18.63 in the 800m. Marsh also recorded a season-best jump of 1.75m (5-8.75 feet) in the high jump.
With the indoor season now complete, the Blue Devils turn their attention towards the outdoor season. The first outdoor meet on the docket is the Bob Davidson Invitational, hosted by High Point University in High Point, N.C. Events are slated to begin March 18 and conclude on March 19.
