DURHAM – Duke fell to William & Mary, 14-3, in midweek action on Tuesday afternoon at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

William & Mary (9-9) jumped on the Blue Devils (11-10) early, scoring eight runs in the second inning and did not look back.

RJ Schreck led Duke offensively, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run. The longball was his third in as many games and he now leads the team with five on the season.

Cooper Stinson started on the bump for the Blue Devils and was tagged with the loss. He allowed seven runs on five hits and two walks in 1.1 innings of work. William & Mary's Zach Tsakounis earned the win in a declared staff day, allowing just three hits and a walk in three innings pitched.

The Tribe scored eight runs on six extra-base hits in the top of the second to take an early lead. They expanded on the lead with lone runs in the third and the sixth to extend the margin to 10-0.

Duke got on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning as the first three batters reached on free passes. FreshmanÂ

Wil Hoyle hit a sacrifice fly to score another.

William & Mary responded with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh before Schreck homered in the bottom half of the inning to make it 12-3.

The Tribe added two more in the top of the ninth to bring it to the game's final score of 14-3.

Adam Boucher and graduate studentÂ
Caleb McRoy each had a scoreless inning in relief. Boucher fanned two in a hitless fourth inning. McRoy pitched a clean eighth inning, allowing just one walk and striking out a pair.

Duke returns to action on Wednesday against Presbyterian. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the DBAP. The game is set to be nationally broadcast on ACC Network.
