CHICAGO – Duke women's basketball incoming freshman Ashlon Jackson shined this week during the McDonald's All-America Game festivities. Jackson participated in the 3-point contest and the skills competition during the Powerade Jam Fest, while playing in the game in Chicago, Ill.
Jackson, a product of China, Texas, won the 3-point competition with 18 points, topping KK Bransford along with Chance Gray. Not only were the 18 points the most in the women's competition, it was the highest score of the night. Keyonte George won the boys competition with 12 points. Jackson also advanced to the semifinals of the skills competition.
In the McDonald's All-America game, Jackson represented the West Team and received the start. She played 15 minutes, totaling seven points, one rebound, one assist and one blocked shot. The 6-0 guard hit 3-of-5 field goals and drained her only 3-point attempt. Her squad ended up dropping a 95-75 decision to the East team.
