DURHAM – The Duke women's tennis program made another leap in the latest ITA team rankings, jumping four spots to No. 5 following another 2-0 weekend in conference action.
Wednesday's poll marks Duke's first appearance in the top five since the 2020 season. The ACC sports three programs among the top-five teams, as the Blue Devils join top-ranked North Carolina and No. 2 NC State.
The fifth-ranked Blue Devils improved to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in ACC play after picking up wins over then No. 12 Virginia (4-3) and Virginia Tech (7-0). The team's triumph over the Cavaliers was the third victory over a top-25 opponent this season.
Duke also features three ranked singles players and two doubles pairings.
Chloe Beck continues her ascent up the rankings and leads the way at No. 9. The junior is 20-6 overall and owns an 8-0 singles record in dual match play. Senior
Georgia Drummy (13-6) checks in at No. 23 and freshman
Emma Jackson (17-8) ranks 84th. Drummy holds a 6-2 dual match ledger in flight one that features a trio of wins over ranked foes while Jackson, the reigning ACC Freshman of the Week, stands at 5-3. This past Friday, the rookie scored a three-set decision (6-1, 2-6, 6-1) to help lead Duke to a 4-3, come-from-behind victory over Virginia.
