JuanCarlos “JC” Castrillon joins the Blue Devils after wrapping up a successful prep career at Valley Stream Central High School and Long Island Aquatic Club. JC was coached by Dave Ferris.
He is the son of Maribel and Juan Carlos Castrillon and has an older sister, Emily.
Why Duke in one word? Family
What is your favorite swimming memory so far? Watching friend Eduardo make his first NCSA cut in 200 fly. Everyone was screaming and cheering him on and i nearly lost my voice, but it was one of the most enjoyable experiences i’ve ever had.
What is your pre-race hype song? LEMONHEAD by Tyler, the Creator
Do you have any hidden talents? Pickle ball master
If you had to eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? Definitely has to be ice cream
