DURHAM – Nine former Blue Devils appeared during the first week of regular season play in the National Football League.
Former Duke wide receiver Jamison Crowder hauled in three catches for 28 yards on Thursday night in his Buffalo Bills debut. The Bills defeated the Los Angeles Rams 31-10 to kick off the 2022 NFL schedule.
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones opened his season converting on 17-of-21 pass attempts for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Jones connected with running back Saquon Barkley on a two-point conversion with a minute to play to ultimately give New York the 21-20 win. Former Blue Devil offensive lineman Devery Hamilton also appeared for the Giants in the win.
The Duke trio of Michael Carter II,Thomas Hennessy and Laken Tomlinson all appeared during the New York Jets' week one contest against the Baltimore Ravens. Carter II recorded four total tackles and one tackle for loss in the Jets 24-9 loss.
Kansas City's Noah Gray hauled in one catch for 10 yards to help the Chiefs to a 44-21 rout of the Arizona Cardinals. Victor Dimukeje recorded two tackles and a quarterback pressure for the Cardinals.
Chicago Bears offensive lineman Lucas Patrick rounded out the former Blue Devils who appeared during the NFL's opening week of play. He helped the Bears defeat the San Francisco 49ers, 19-10 in a rain soak game at Soldier Field.
