Cary, N.C. – Graduate students Michael Heller and Andrew Zhang fell in the finals of the doubles event at the ITA Carolina Regional Championships on Tuesday at the Cary Tennis Park.

The duo dropped a 6-3, 6-4 decision to fifth-seeded Joseph Wayand and Martin Borisiouk of NC State. Despite the loss, the pair earned an automatic bid to the 2023 ITA National Fall Championships, held Nov. 1-5, at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.
