HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Duke held a 20-14 lead at the end of one – the opening 10 minutes of play capped by Ashlon Jackson's nothing but net triple from the logo just before the buzzer.
- After Georgia jumped out to a 10-3 advantage, the Blue Devils closed the quarter on an 11-1 run via a perfect 6-for-6 clip from the field while holding the Lady Bulldogs without a field goal for the final 2:43.
- The freshmen trio of Donovan, Okananwa and Delaney Thomas kickstarted the run, Donovan leading the way with six points while Okananwa and Thomas chipped in a bucket apiece.
- Senior Kennedy Brown pulled the Blue Devils within a point on a short jumper from the right side before Jackson got herself going offensively, scoring six of the frame's final seven points.
- Duke kept the defensive pressure on in the second quarter as they held Georgia to just 2-for-13 shooting (15.4 percent) from the field and without a field goal across the final 6:23.
- Offensively, the Blue Devils were paced in the second stanza by Donovan (5) and Jackson (4). The pair concluded the first half in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
- Georgia managed to cut its deficit to four (36-32) early in the third following an 8-2 spurt to open the second half.
- Okananwa countered with six straight points, draining back-to-back triples from the far-left corner to push Duke's lead back to 10, 42-32, and force the home team to take a timeout.
- The Bulldogs responded with 11 of the final 15 points to pull within 46-43 at the end of the third.
- The fourth quarter started off back-and-forth until Georgia surged ahead by four with 6:16 left to play.
- Duke pulled within a pair, 55-53, at the 2:44 mark after getting buckets from Donovan and Richardson along with a free throw from Brown.
- Shortly afterwards, Richardson converted a perfect trip at the charity stripe to level the score at 55 with 42 seconds left in regulation.
- After Georgia took a 57-55 lead to start overtime, Jackson answered with a three-pointer to give the Blue Devils the lead for good. Duke continued to pull away, stretching the lead to seven with a free throw by Taina Mair. Jackson clinched the victory with three free throws down the stretch.
