Duke Falls in Friday Night Dual with Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Duke wrestling dropped a 45-3 decision to Virginia on Friday night in Charlottesville.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Freshman Ethan Grimminger battled Patrick McCormick of Virginia at 125 pounds to open the night but ultimately dropped an 8-2 decision.
The Cavaliers kept that momentum going, besting the Blue Devils in nine of ten matches with senior Jonah Niesenbaum scoring the team's lone three points to close out the night.
In the heavyweight bout, No. 22 Niesenbaum defeated Virginia's Ethan Weatherspoon in a 7-1 decision to collect his 10th straight dual win and move to 22-3 on the season.

UP NEXT
Duke is back on the mat in Cameron Indoor Stadium on Wednesday for a senior night dual against Gardner-Webb. Action is set to begin at 6 p.m.
