DURHAM - Duke wrestling travels to Charlottesville, Va., Friday to face ACC foe Virginia. Action is set to begin at 7 p.m., on ACC Network.
LAST TIME OUT
Duke wrestling dropped a 45-0 decision to No. 9 Virginia Tech last Friday night in Card Gym.
The Blue Devils found themselves down 24-0 as the 165-pound bout was set to begin. Redshirt-senior
Gabe Dinette was strong defensively for Duke at the position against No. 26 Connor Brady, staying within four points after the first two periods. Unfortunately, Brady pulled away in the third period with a takedown to defeat Dinette by a 12-5 decision.
The Hokies were able to limit Duke throughout the remaining four matches to secure the win.
Freshman
Connor Barket made his third appearance for the Blue Devils this season and got his first dual start against the Hokies, facing No. 23 Hunter Catka in the heavyweight bout. Barket previously wrestled in the 197-pound weight class of the Keystone Classic on Nov. 20 and in an extra match against VMI on Dec. 4.
