Duke Sets Spring Practice Dates

DURHAM – Duke head football coach Mike Elko announced Tuesday the program's spring practice dates.
The Blue Devils will use the allotted 15 practice sessions allowed by the NCAA during the spring in preparation for the 2023 season. One of those practice sessions will be devoted to the team's Blue & White Game, which is set for Saturday, April 22 at 1 p.m. Additional information on the Blue & White Game will be released at a later date.

Elko concluded his first year in Durham leading Duke to a 9-4 record, including a 30-13 victory over UCF in the Military Bowl. The 2022 ACC Coach of the Year became the program's first head coach to lead the Blue Devils to nine wins and a bowl victory in his first season at the helm. He also coached the Blue Devils to a 5-3 ledger in ACC play, marking the program's most league wins since 2014. In addition, the Blue Devils earned a home record of 5-1 for their most home victories since 2014.Â

The Blue Devils return 37 lettermen to the 2023 roster, including First Team All-ACC recipient in offensive tackle Graham Barton, Third Team All-ACC honoree in defensive tackle DeWayne Carter and Third Team All-ACC selection as both a wide receiver and specialist in Jalon Calhoun. Ten members of Duke's 2023 Signing Class – cornerback Quentin Ajiero, defensive end Desmond Aladuge, tight end Vance Bolyard, running back Marquise Collins, wide receiver Apollos Cook, running back Peyton Jones, cornerback Moussa Kane, quarterback Grayson Loftis, linebacker Luke Mergott, and defensive end Semaj Turner – enrolled in January and will participate in spring drills.
The Blue Devils open the 2023 season hosting Clemson at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium on Monday, Sept. 4. Duke will also have additional home games against Lafayette (Saturday, Sept. 9), Northwestern (Saturday, Sept. 16), Notre Dame (Saturday, Sept. 30), N.C. State (Saturday, Oct. 14), Wake Forest (Thursday, Nov. 2) and Pittsburgh (Saturday, Nov. 25).
