DURHAM – Following a pair of wins and a second-place finish at the Big Ten Invitational over the weekend, Duke's Varsity Four has been named ACC Crew of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.
In Friday's morning session, the Varsity Four finished second behind No. 6 Brown, clocking a time of 7:07.473. In the evening session, the Blue Devils lineup of coxswain
Mia Khamish, Grace Matos, Shae Simpson, Chloe Zollman and
Caeley Tierney captured their first win of the weekend, as they outraced No. 13 Michigan, Iowa and UCLA with a time of 7:13.230.
The V4 cruised past boats from No. 15 SMU, No. 20 Indiana and Rutgers in its final race on Saturday to wrap up the weekend, posting a time of 7.06.440.
The Blue Devils are set to co-host the Lake Wheeler Invitational with North Carolina on April 21-22.
