DURHAM – No. 13 Duke men's tennis welcomes No. 47 Miami and No. 19 Florida State to Ambler Tennis Stadium this weekend.

Duke is coming off its fifth consecutive victory, including its second straight over North Carolina. The Blue Devils defeated their top-15 opponent, 5-2, to shift to 16-5 overall on the year and 9-1 in ACC play. Duke's nine ACC wins ties it with five others for the second-most in program history and most since 2013.

Heading into the weekend, the Blue Devils have two players listed in the most recent ITA rankings in senior
Garrett Johns (No. 14) and rookie
Pedro Rodenas (No. 67). Johns holds a 12-8 dual ledger on Duke's top court, including a 7-7 mark against nationally ranked opponents. Rodenas leads the Blue Devils in dual wins with a record of 19-2, including an impressive 10-0 mark on court two. In addition, the freshman has gone 5-3 against ranked foes.

The pair also team up in doubles play and rank as the No. 27 doubles team in the country. The twosome is 12-2 in dual doubles matches with a 5-0 record in ACC play and on the main court. Joining them in the most recent rankings were the senior duo of
Michael Heller and
Andrew Zhang, who secured the No. 44 spot. Heller and Zhang hold an 8-5 dual record and are 6-4 over their last 10 matches.

HISTORY WITH NO. 47 MIAMI
Friday's contest will be the 51st all-time meeting between the two programs with the Blue Devils holding the slim 26-24 edge on the series. Duke has won the last two matches, including a 4-2 road victory just a season ago. The last Miami win came on March 22, 2019, when the Hurricanes defeated the Blue Devils 4-3 in Durham.
SCOUTING THE HURRICANES
No. 47 Miami is coming off a 1-1 week in which it fell on the road at No. 18 Florida State, 4-3, before defeating Boston College, 7-0, at home. The Hurricanes hold a 14-7 ledger with a 5-5 mark in ACC play. Graduate student Dan Martin came in at the No. 52 spot in the latest singles rankings and is 9-7 in dual matches on Miami's top court this season. Sophomore Martin Katz rose to No. 87 in the singles rankings after a perfect 2-0 record last weekend. The Belgium native improved to 7-4 on the year and 4-3 in ACC play. Two of Miami's doubles pairs appeared in the ITA doubles rankings in Juan Martin Jalif and freshman Martin Vergara Del Puerto (No. 54) and Franco Aubone and Martin Vergara Del Puerto (No. 88).

HISTORY WITH NO. 19 FLORIDA STATE
The Blue Devils and Seminoles have faced off 48 previous times with Duke leading the all-time series at 32-16. Duke is currently riding a two-match winning streak over Florida State, including a 4-3 victory in Tallahassee last season. Prior to that, the Seminoles had posted four consecutive wins over the Blue Devils.
SCOUTING THE SEMINOLES
No. 19 Florida State, who are 17-5 on the season and 8-2 in conference play, enter the final weekend third in the ACC standings. The Seminoles have won eight-straight matches heading into the weekend. They are led by junior Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc, who is the No. 4 singles player in the nation. Cornut-Chauvinc enters this weekend with a team-high 14-3 record with nine of those wins coming against ranked opponents. Sophomore Youcef Rihane, who is ranked 115th nationally, is 12-5 in dual matches this season and is undefeated with a 5-0 record at No. 4. Sophomore Joshua Dous-Karpenschif is one of five Seminoles with at least 10 wins this spring and has posted a 13-2 record on the season, including 7-0 and 3-0 marks at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. In addition, he is currently on an 11-match unbeaten streak. Florida State travels to No. 16 North Carolina on Friday at 4 p.m. at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
