WALNUT, Calif. – The Duke track and field program capped its dual meet West Coast weekend with another stellar day of competition on Saturday as the Blue Devils shattered one school record and set six additional top-five program marks across the Bryan Clay Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays.

Jide Akinjisola continued his strong season in the men's hammer throw as the graduate student turned in a personal-best showing en route to unseating the school record.
Akinjisola came through on his second try with a throw of 61.30m (201-1 feet) to slot himself atop the program charts while improving upon his previous best by nearly two meters.
Graduate student Jordyn Shubrick set the tone for the day, kickstarting the Saturday slate with a career-best performance and the second-farthest toss in Duke history in the women's hammer throw.
Shubrick delivered her best showing on her second attempt, coming through with a toss of 60.81m (199-6 feet) for a fifth-place finish and three meter personal best while jumping up two spots to No. 2 all-time.
Over on the track, the Blue Devils registered three top-five program times beginning with the women's 4x100m relay.
The Duke quartet of freshman Julia Jackson, senior Halle Bieber along with sophomores Abby Geiser and Chyler Turner posted the fifth-fastest time in Duke history as they clocked 44.55 seconds, good for ninth among a loaded field.
Bieber added a pair of personal-best performances in the women's 100m Invitational and 200m Invitational while making revisions of her own to the program records in both events.
In the 100m, Bieber dashed in 11.46 seconds – lowering her No. 2 time in program lore. The 200m saw the senior jump up two spots to No. 3 all-time via a time of 23.22 seconds.
The women's 4x400m relay capped the day with a great race, picking up a third-place finish amid a stacked field.
Duke's foursome of Jackson, rookie Lauren Tolbert, graduate student Madison Mulder and sophomore Megan McGinnis turned in a time of 3:29.19 – No. 7 nationally – which slotted them No. 2 all-time in program lore.
Sophomore Amina Maatoug and graduate student Karly Forker represented the Blue Devils in the women's 1500m Invitational with the pair turning in great races.
Maatoug clocked 4:13.26, the second-fastest time in Duke history, while Forker's time of 4:17.40 ranks sixth all-time in program lore.
Sophomore Paige Sommers had a solid showing in the 'A' section of the women's pole vault, picking up a third-place finish via a clearance of 4.10m (13-5.25 feet).
