DURHAM – Following her explosive performances in Duke's six games last week, freshman D'Auna Jennings has been named ACC Co-Player of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.
The Houston, Texas, native led the way with her bat, finishing 12-for-17 with one double, one RBI and seven stolen bases. Jennings scored 11 of Duke's 32 runs, including the go-ahead run to complete the three-game sweep over Boston College. She now holds a career-best six-game hitting streak and posted a 0.783 on-base percentage in the six contests.
The honor is the freshman's first ACC Player of the Week award in her career and is the seventh Blue Devils' player to earn the recognition in program history, joining sophomore Ana Gold (April 4/March 7), junior Claire Davidson (Feb. 21), Jameson Kavel (March 8, 2022), Rachel Crabtree (March 1, 2022), Caroline Jacobsen (Feb. 15, 2022) and Kristina Foreman (April 4, 2019).
Jennings shares the ACC Co-Player of the Week honor with Valerie Cagle of Clemson.
The Blue Devils welcome UNC Greensboro to Duke Softball Stadium on Wednesday for a midweek non-conference matchup. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
