DURHAM - The Duke volleyball team bounced back with a 3-0 sweep (25-12, 25-21, 25-18) over Virginia Sunday afternoon at Cameron Indoor Stadium to capture its first ACC win. The Blue Devils improve to 10-3 (1-1 ACC).
Graduate student Lizzie Fleming collected her 400th-career block this afternoon, joining an elite group of Blue Devils as the 10th player in Duke history to reach the milestone.
Offensively, Duke was led by a trio of Blue Devils — Gracie Johnson (12), Kerry Keefe (10) and Fleming (10) — with 10 or more kills as Fleming hit .667 percent with no errors. Setter Emma Worthington collected 33 assists and 11 digs while libero Madison Bryant picked up 13 digs. Jess Robinson headlined the defensive effort with five blocks while Christina Barrow tied her career high in aces with two.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Duke set the tone for the match in the first set and posting a .522 hitting percentage to open play. Johnson tallied six quick kills to help lead an offense that put Virginia on its heels from the first serve.
- The Blue Devils led 1-0, but both teams struggled to find their offensive rhythms in the second set. Just like they've done most of the season, the Blue Devils dug deep and found a way to take a 2-0 lead.
- Duke finished the match on a high note with a .227 hitting percentage and limited the Cavaliers to a negative effort in the third set. Robinson and Worthington both added two blocks while Rachel Richardson and Georgia Stavrinides collected one each.

- Duke improves to 10-3 overall and 1-1 in the ACC.
- Virginia drops to 7-5 overall and 0-2 in the ACC.
- This was head coach Jolene Nagel's 693rd victory of her career and the 490th at the helm of the Blue Devils.
