DURHAM – Graduate safety Jeremiah Lewisearned ACC Defensive Back of the Week honors following Duke's 28-7 victory over No. 9 Clemson on Monday night.
Lewis, a Lewisville, Texas, native led the Blue Devils' defensive with 11 tackles, one pass breakup and a fumble recovery that came with Clemson on the Duke seven-yard line midway through the third quarter. Overall, the Duke defense held the Tigers to just one score in four red zone possessions and forced three turnovers in the second half to earn its first win over an Associated Press top-10 opponent since 1989.
The ACC's other weekly honors included Florida State's Jordan Travis (quarterback), Keon Coleman (wide receiver) and Bless Harris (offensive line), North Carolina's British Brooks (running back) and Kaimon Rucker (defensive line), NC State's Payton Wilson (linebacker), Louisville's Brock Travelstead (specialist) and Syracuse's Ike Daniels (rookie).
