Duke Produces Strong Showing at Philadelphia Invitational

PHILADELPHIA - The Duke fencing team closed out its first meet of the 2024 season with success at the Philadelphia Invitational. The ninth-ranked Duke women went 10-2 overall while the ninth-ranked men posted a 6-4 showing in Philadelphia.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Duke women defeated No. 1 Princeton (16-11), NJIT (24-3), Johns Hopkins (20-7), NYU (16-11), Wagner (19-8), Sacred Heart (22-5), No. 5 Northwestern (15-12), No. 8 Penn State (17-10), No. 12 Yale (16-11) and Drew (22-5).
The Duke men defeated NJIT (17-10), Johns Hopkins (14-13), No. 7 Penn (14-13), Wagner (22-5), Sacred Heart (20-7) and Drew (20-7).
The Duke women were led by Victoria Gorman (saber) with 19 victories while Christina Ferrari (foil) collected 18.
The Duke men were led by Daayal Singh (foil) with with 15 wins while Stephen Kim (saber) added 14.

UP NEXT

Duke will compete against Harvard on Friday, Jan. 26 before the Eric Sollee Invitational in Waltham, Mass.
