HOW IT HAPPENED
Â
QUOTE
"Overall, we had a very good event. I believe this is the first time that Duke and UNC went head to head, so I think it was a great accomplishment to start that match. We hosted and are very happy about that.Â
Â
"On the men's side, we won 15-12 and it was nice to win at home. Then on the women's side, we lost 15-12.I feel there is some work for both the men and women. The men started very well and then things slipped toward the end.Â
Â
"Then the opposite happened on the women's side. We had the energy at the beginning of the day. We were focused. And then after that, things started slipping. I think the women were a little nervous and then afterwards we focused, but unfortunately, we woke up slightly too late to come back.Â
Â
"Overall it's the first NCAA match in the season so it's good to see where we stand. We will work from here and build for the next one." - head coachÂ
Omar ElgeziryÂ
